IT-SA – The IT Security Expo and Congress 2021

1500x500 IT SA2021 1 scaled 1

In October, the leading trade fair for IT security, IT-SA in Nuremberg, finally opens its doors again. We are very pleased to be part of it again this year.

Visit us at Booth 403 in Hall 7, where we will be happy to demonstrate how to respond to targeted cyber-attacks and build comprehensive CyberResilience in your company. Our team will be available to answer any questions you may have and to give you an insight into the various solutions in our extensive portfolio. Among them:

Don’t miss the presentations by our experts:

Cyber Incident Response – Plan for what you are most afraid of! (in German)

Dr. Andreas Rieb, Principal CyberSecurity Consultant
Tuesday, 12th October | 10:30 – 10:45 (CET) | Forum C

“24 hours to recover IT infrastructure for email services and voice over IP, and 48 hours to recover production infrastructure!”

These were the requirements of an (anonymised) customer project, aimed at developing practice-oriented recovery and restart plans after several locations had previously been affected by cyber-attacks.

Join us to discover how to develop an effective Cyber Incident Response Plan, based on this example.

Based on different scenarios developed with the customer, we’ll look at how to minimise the impact of cyber incidents and develop processes in the following phases: identification, analysis, containment, eradication, recovery and post-incident activities.

The focus will be on organisational processes that go beyond technical measures for analysing and eliminating malware. These include standard activities, such as escalation and de-escalation and reporting to the data supervisory authority. But also easily overlooked activities and stumbling blocks, such as the failure of some IT-supported operational technology – which can take months to replace. In addition, the presentation will point out further hurdles, as well as success factors, which are not mentioned in the current norms and standards.

Securing the Factories of the Future starts today (in English)

Sebastian Weibler, OT Security Consultant
Wednesday, 13th October | 10:00-10:15 (CET)  | Forum B

Moving from traditional production systems to the Factory of the Future has brought huge production and operations benefits to industrial organisations – with further progress promised in the coming years. However, digital transformation carries significant security implications, which need to be addressed for the secure Factory of the Future to become a reality.

Airbus CyberSecurity is working with multiple internal and external customers, as well as pioneering researchers, to create a secure Factory of the Future. Our forward-looking projects cover both the current and future challenges faced by organisations.

During this talk, an Airbus CyberSecurity OT specialist will present the challenges modern factories are facing and demonstrate how Airbus CyberSecurity can solve them. These include:

  • Identifying and assessing the cyber risks of existing factories
  • Designing secure-by-design architectures to support a factory’s evolution
  • Restructuring and segmenting production networks
  • Securing a factory’s legacy endpoints
  • Monitoring and managing the security of integrated IT / OT environments
  • Testing and simulating security technologies on digital twins

With solutions covering all elements of digital transformation and Industry 4.0, Airbus CyberSecurity is uniquely positioned to support its customers in securing the Factory of the Future.

About our Use-Case Factory SOC Demo

Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs) are an ongoingchallenge for IT and cyber security decision-makers. It’s no surprise then, that organisations of all sizes are hit by cyber-attacks every day. While the majority of these attacks can be detected by antivirus and intrusion detection solutions using static detection rules, advanced attackers often take advantage of vulnerabilities or social engineering to find their way into a network. This requires more advanced detection based on behaviour and attack patterns.

In order to detect and react to these advanced attacks, Security Operation Centres can monitor the activity within critical IT environments and search for suspicious events. The Use-Case Factory is a framework built by Airbus CyberSecurity to facilitate the detection of such advanced attacks using behavioural detection.
