“24 hours to recover IT infrastructure for email services and voice over IP, and 48 hours to recover production infrastructure!”
These were the requirements of an (anonymised) customer project, aimed at developing practice-oriented recovery and restart plans after several locations had previously been affected by cyber-attacks.
Join us to discover how to develop an effective Cyber Incident Response Plan, based on this example.
Based on different scenarios developed with the customer, we’ll look at how to minimise the impact of cyber incidents and develop processes in the following phases: identification, analysis, containment, eradication, recovery and post-incident activities.
The focus will be on organisational processes that go beyond technical measures for analysing and eliminating malware. These include standard activities, such as escalation and de-escalation and reporting to the data supervisory authority. But also easily overlooked activities and stumbling blocks, such as the failure of some IT-supported operational technology – which can take months to replace. In addition, the presentation will point out further hurdles, as well as success factors, which are not mentioned in the current norms and standards.

About our Use-Case Factory SOC Demo
Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs) are an ongoingchallenge for IT and cyber security decision-makers. It’s no surprise then, that organisations of all sizes are hit by cyber-attacks every day. While the majority of these attacks can be detected by antivirus and intrusion detection solutions using static detection rules, advanced attackers often take advantage of vulnerabilities or social engineering to find their way into a network. This requires more advanced detection based on behaviour and attack patterns.
In order to detect and react to these advanced attacks, Security Operation Centres can monitor the activity within critical IT environments and search for suspicious events. The Use-Case Factory is a framework built by Airbus CyberSecurity to facilitate the detection of such advanced attacks using behavioural detection.
