Cassidian CyberSecurity announced the appointment of François Lavaste as Chairman of the Board of Directors of its subsidiaries Arkoon and Netasq. As part of its growth strategy, Cassidian CyberSecurity had acquired Netasq in November 2012 and Arkoon in April 2013. Before the announcement, François Lavaste has been Chairman of the Board of Netasq.
Jean-Michel Orozco, Head of Cassidian CyberSecurity, said: “The appointment of François as the Chairman of the common Board of Directors will ensure the consistency of the global security solutions of Arkoon and Netasq. Still, the two entities are to retain their operational independence.”
François Lavaste said: “The alliance between Arkoon and Netasq is of particular strategic significance in the context of the current structuring of the cyber security market. By pooling our innovation capabilities and offerings, we are ready to provide the market in France and abroad with the most competitive and efficient trusted security solutions to protect networks, infrastructures and workstations.”
François Lavaste took over the presidency of Netasq’s board of directors in early 2007. He began his career in IT in 1992 as a partner in the creation of Eneide, a CRM Conso+ software publisher, which was bought over by Coheris in 2000. In 1996, he joined Intuit in California, the worldwide leader in accounting and personal finance management tools for SMEs. In 2001, he became Vice President of Marketing and Strategy at Brightmail, a pioneer in messaging service security that Symantec bought over in 2004. In 2006, he took over the reins as General Manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa of Tricipher, a specialist in secure access and strong authentication management (acquired in 2010 by VMware). François Lavaste graduated from ESCP-Europe, a European graduate business school, and holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
